Statement

Above all, I am driven by the passion to make beautiful things. Not perfect things, or pristine things, and definitely not things to which I ascribe some greater meaning. Beautiful forms, unexpected textures, diverse clay bodies and combinations, intense colors, and lack of color, all of which project my personal aesthetic. My primary focus in recent years has been on creating a range of seemingly freestanding, totem-like, multi-piece, clay spires I call "stacks." These stacks range from under two feet in height to an imposing seven (or more) feet tall.
